AIMME,
Instituto Tecnológico Metalmecánico (Technological Institute
for Metal and Mechanics) is a non-profit organisation created in 1987
devoted to support and promote the technological development in the companies
of the metal mechanic sector. Currently near 600 companies are AIMME affiliates.
The
main activities of AIMME are related to: products and materials testing,
surface technologies, automatisation, engineering and design, information
and training, quality systems implantation, and environmental technologies.
In this last field AIMME is participating in clean technologies projects
within the LIFE programme, and has a wide experience in environmental
diagnosis in companies. In the Enviredox proposal AIMME is the co-ordinator
of the consortium.
AIMME
actions in industrial environment are focused in five groups of activities:
-
Environmental managment and audit.
-
Decontamination projects and plants design.
- Research
& Development projects and tecnology transfer.
- Training.
- Other
singular actions.
All
this activities means more than 200 actions in the period 1996-1999 with
enterprises or groups of enterprises in the fields referred before, mainly
related with environmental management and projects.
Within
the R&D projects two action lines are pointed out:
- Demonstration
projects, as actions carried out inside LIFE program, where they are
working with zero discharing tecnology for the surface treatment industry.
This project involves 30 enterprises of the metal finishing sector.
-
The Tecnology Transfer projects where singular actions have been implemented
with near 100 enterprises of the sector.
AIMME
approaches moreover training programs related with:
-
Continuous training and profesional recycling.
-
Generic training in water ingeniering as the Master in Management and
Treatment of Industrial Residual Waters.
-
Point out within the singular actions:
- The
design of pilot plants of water treatment for the Water Management Service
Center of the Environment Council.
- The
environmental diagnosis of the Metalmecanic sector, where, ,in addition
to approach the residues inventory generated by more than 17.000 industrial,
comercial and service enterprises wich belong to the sector, a sectorial
plan of residues is proposed. This plan designs the most urgent actions
that the sector requires for its conformation with environmental regulation.
